Orcas in the Puget Sound

Last week we joined a morning whale watching tour out of Anacortes looking for Orcas. We were fortunate to find a large pod of them. While that didn’t exhibit any ‘dramatic’ activities that provided for a great image, they did hang around for awhile. It’s so cool to watch these creatures swimming along together. While we were watching, one unfortunate seal discovered that it was no match for a group of Orcas. In addition to the Orcas, we were able to spot a variety of other wildlife … including a sea otter, which is actually not very common here in the waters of the Puget Sound.
