After exactly 48 months since returning from our last tropical adventure to Southeast Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore), we ventured to the islands of Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii. A couple of weeks in paradise was our reward for two years of being masked, vaxxed, boosted, quarantined, isolated, and socially distanced. For two weeks, it felt about as close to ‘normal’ as anything has for quite awhile. While we have been to Hawaii dozens of times, it was the first time back to these two islands in 26 years.
