Skagit Snow Geese and Swan Migration

Every year, thousands of Snow Geese leave the artic regions and visit the Skagit Valley in Washington state. The flocks of geese are an amazing site and can be easily found by listening for the deafening noise. The geese travel in extremely large flocks that fill the sky. Any fan of Hitchcock movies may find the experience slightly unnerving. The reality is that with that many birds flying overhead … the movie “High Anxiety” might be a more appropriate reference. Spread amongst the Snow Geese are large groups of Trumpeter Swans … and no they are not that type of Trump species although their loud honking sounds vaguely familiar. These elegant birds understand that progress is not possible without equally balanced right and left wings. You can learn more about the migration of these Snow Geese at https://birdsofwinter.org/snow-geese-of-the-pacific-flyway/.
